A traditional house situated on the west side of the harbour overlooking the main town and further.
On entering the property from the outside street there is a small apothiki (store room). Up a few windy steps under a small quirky arch are two bedrooms, one on either side of the walkway.
One bedroom is completely independant, consists of double bed and en-suite bathroom. A built in cupboard is conveniently placed to the back of the room.
The other bedroom is the ground floor of the main house and accessed by double doors. It has a double bed and a charming old furnace hood in one corner. Towards the rear of the room, the floor is slightly raised due to the original cistern (rainwater tank) being underneath and is still today fully functional. This space is at present being used for extra sleeping purposes.
Continuing up the external steps is the main courtyard where there are lush mediterranean flowers and shrubs planted all around. There is a hideaway corner shaded with plumbago and a separate large terrace with spectacular views of the harbour and the sea, perfect for summer evenings.
There is another large terrace to the other side of the property above the kitchen area, also with superb views of the sea and across to the Peloponnese.
From the inner courtyard is the main entrance to the first floor. On entering is the kitchen which has been modernised over the years for convenience purposes. In the corner is a bathroom.
Continuing from the kitchen through an open archway is the main living room (verani). A large room with traditional wooden floors and fireplace. The arched windows still have their original features. From each window is a picture perfect view.
To the rear end of the living room there is a spiral staircase which leads down into the bedroom underneath.
Villa Jason is full of old charm with spectacular views. A house needing some tender loving care but all in all a true gem.
